The Yanks Air Museum

The Yanks Air Museum is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to exhibiting, preserving and restoring American aircraft and artifacts.
Aircraft displayed from the Inter-War period include the Ryan Brougham, American Eagle A-101 and Swallow TP.

Rare types on display from World War II include the P-51A Mustang, P-40 Warhawk, P-38 Lightning, P-47M Thunderbolt, B-25 Mitchell and F6F Hellcat.
The Chino facility of Yanks Air Museum houses the largest private collection of American WWII fighters and dive bombers in the world. The aircraft collection now numbers more than 160 aircraft and continues to grow, many are the last surviving examples of their kind. Yanks restores all aircraft to airworthy condition, in the restoration of these rare aircraft, only original factory specifications and materials are used.

The Chino facility encompasses 124,000 square foot under roof and covers ten acres. In addition to the display hangars, public access is permitted, on a supervised basis, to the main restoration hangar where historic aircraft can be seen in various stages of restoration, from bare fuselage to fully airworthy condition.
The Yanks Air Museum is a relative newcomer, but has an impressive collection of flying and static aircraft numbering over 120 aircraft.  The focus of the collection is on US-built civil and military aircraft, and many of the aircraft are flyable.
This is a museum that is only going to get better with age.  As more of the collection is restored to the museum’s very high standards, an already great museum will become even greater.  I am sure that the proposed expansion to be built in Greenfield, California will also be a destination of choice for airplane lovers.  Highly recommended to anybody interested in aviation who finds him or herself in southern California.
