West Sacramento Historical Society Museum has opened a temporary office at 849 Jefferson, suite 104, West Sacramento (next to LaBou). WSHS is looking forward to the opening of the new West Sacramento Community Center, which will include a history gallery managed by WSHS. See Proposed floor plan – Historical Gallery in Community Center.
The West Sacramento Historical Society (WSHS) is a non-profit, membership-supported organization dedicated to preserving, protecting and promoting the history of West Sacramento and East Yolo County.

The activities of the Society include interpretation through special historical exhibitions within the community, promotion of community history through program meetings, school outreach, community exhibits and lectures, encouraging and supporting community awareness and developing publications of local historical significance.
The West Sacramento Historical Society was established in 1993 to preserve the history of West Sacramento and to provide an opportunity for individuals and groups to learn about and experience the rich culture of our past. The WS Historical Society established the Museum and Visitor Center, the first museum in West Sacramento, on February 20, 2005.

In addition to exhibits, we provide special screenings and book signings for projects relating to West Sacramento history. Our staff are also available for speaking engagements.

WSHS is supported by memberships and donations, and receives some funding from the City of West Sacramento.
